The Imperfect Coach

There are doctors who neglect their own health, accountants who don't manage their personal finances well, chefs who eat poorly at home... you get it.
About a year ago, I forgot about a school event coming up (I hadn't missed it, just forgot it was in the diary... look at my defensiveness there!). Anyway, a parent remarked, "and that's being a life coach."
Fuck, it stung!
But being a life coach at its core is empowering others to live their best life. A very overused phrase now to the point it's cringey, but it does remain true.
I help people communicate without shame, with confidence and with intention.
I help 'problem drinkers' cut out booze.
I help 'middle-lane drinkers' make conscious decisions helping them act with intention with their drinking/drug taking.
I help mothers adopt strategies to maintain a healthy mind whilst juggling everything else.
I help business owners make difficult decisions with intention and lead authentically.
I help dads be present with their children.
I help men and women empower themselves to thrive in their relationships.
I help busy people prioritise their exercise and sleep to succeed at a higher level to their peers.
I help young adults with, well, with everything they are going through!
And I don't judge.
I support and challenge others, whilst I try my best in my own life.
I live with integrity.

I've spent years working out how to be the best version of myself. It changes over time, but at the moment it looks like this:
Exercising 4-5 mornings a week
Getting up before my children wake so I can be fresh, smiley and present
Eat the rainbow and cook everything from scratch
Have loads of quality sex
Read every day
Drink plenty of water
Putting my phone on aeroplane mode by 8:45pm daily
I try to practise what I preach.
But as a coach, I remain neutral. I listen and I help the client come to their own conclusions. What's right for me won't be right for them.
We're all different.
But we all need someone fighting for us in our corner.
That's what I do. I want you to own your decisions. I want you to be intentional. And I love my job.
