The summer holidays are almost here. For many mums, dads and carers, this means a mix of excitement and dread. No more school runs, no uniforms, no homework battles. Instead, there’s a long stretch of days filled with endless possibilities and challenges.
Today, I felt the pull to write despite my recent hiatus. Maybe it is with the holidays looming, I want to share some honest thoughts. Maybe by talking openly about the chaos, we can help ourselves and each other get through it.

Finding the Magic in the Madness
The first two weeks of the summer holidays can feel like a dream. No rushing to get out the door, no nagging about uniforms or homework. Instead, there’s time for picnics, day trips, and simply being together. These moments are precious. I try to remind myself that this quality time is what makes the chaos worth it.
Even with the best plans, I know the reality won’t always be perfect. My amazing daughters, as adorable as they are, can quickly turn. That's just reality and that’s part of the summer holidays too.
Preparing for the Challenges
The summer break brings its own set of struggles. I worry about the money spent on camps, swimming lessons, and the endless supply of food. I also know my patience will be tested. The kids will argue, get bored, and push boundaries.
Looking Ahead with Hope
There must be a reason for breaking my writing interlude, and now this is posted, I will be writing more with tips and tricks for a great summer! In coaching, honesty isn't the best policy, it is the only policy and so putting my best foot forward, I'll be sharing the truth; I know it helps.
